Yama Matcha Premium

Yama Matcha.jpg

This Matcha is made using the first flush leaves of 5 different varieties of Japanese tea bushes: Okumidori, Saemidori, Tsuyuhikari, Okuyutaka and Yabukita. After these leaves are picked, they are steamed, dried and blended before ground into fine powder in “ Usu” or stone mills. The flavor of this matcha is nutty like sesame, sweet and incredibly complex. This Matcha is produced in Yame region of Fukuoka prefecture by a master artisan.

About Maccha Variety

Maccha is powdered green tea traditionally used for the Japanese tea ceremony. Using the leaves from tea bushes grown in the shade just like Gyokuro, the tea is very finely grounded by special stone mills. Lighter green Maccha is considered better quality and is sweeter. Darker green Maccha tends to be a little bitter. Maccha is often used for flavoring sweets.
